Description of essential qualifications, experience, and other Information

  1. Essential Qualification: By the time of hiring, candidates are expected to have been awarded a doctoral degree in a relevant field of engineering or applied sciences or are nearing completion of their doctoral program. Candidates must have an excellent track record with first class in all degrees/public examinations from 10th onwards. Applications are open for Indian Nationals, NRIs, and OCIs.
  2. The applicant's age preferably be less than 35 years for the position of Assistant Professor. For candidates belonging to reserved categories, appropriate relaxations will be made as per norms. Applications received till February 13, 2023, will be reviewed on priority basis. Questions, if any, should be directed to faculty.recuritment@iitgn.ac.in
  3. The candidates satisfying the requisite qualification and experience may apply online only.  Candidates shortlisted from valid applicants, based on academic records and any other criteria without compromising the minimum essential qualification/experience, shall only be called for further assessment.
  4. Candidates who have applied in the last 2 years need not submit their application again.

  1. Without any compromise on qualification, experience, and competence, reservation will be applicable as per institute norms. The candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) are required to attach the caste/category certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India. The Institute follows the central list in the case of SC/ST/OBC/EWS and PwD. GOI policy on the reservation of faculty positions also includes persons with a physical disability.
  1. The benefits, such as HRA (if the Institute’s accommodation is not provided), LTC, Medical reimbursement, Transport Allowance, children's education allowance/hostel subsidy, contribution towards New Pension Scheme (NPS), reimbursement of Telephone expenses, Research initiation grant, financial support towards National and International conferences, etc. shall be permitted as per the Institute norms.
  1. If a candidate is interested in applying to more than one discipline, she/he/they should not submit separate applications for different disciplines. In the application forms, they can select the primary and secondary disciplines they are applying for.
  1. The institute reserves the right to fill or not fill any or all of the vacant posts.
  1. Recruitment, preferably, will be based on the need in a given area(s) of specialization within the discipline. Institute reserves the right to modify the particulars of specializations as per the Institute’s needs.
  1. Merely meeting the post-Ph.D. experience requirement for a post shall not guarantee the offer for that particular position/pay for the selected candidates.
  1. If the case is recommended for further processing, the Institute shall contact the candidates. No emails/communication regarding the status of applications shall be entertained by IIT Gandhinagar.
