Academics at IITGN:

IITGn fosters excellence in learning, research, scholarship, and innovation, thereby creating global leaders in different fields of social being. The founders of the Institute have gone out of their way to create an academic platform beyond the mannerisms of typified institutes in India. It abides by the basic principles of education--encouraging curiosity and creativity, innovating a solid and sustaining value system whose relevance progresses with its socio-cultural context, development of soft skills and an open-ended education aimed at meeting multiple expectations, transcending conventional disciplinary barriers, and continuous feedback on actions. To realize its objectives, the institute has undertaken a number of initiatives and takes pride in its experimental tendencies in the field of higher education, and in its highly student-centred approach in these tendencies.

About Curriculum

A brand new undergraduate curriculum, that is a significant departure from any other curriculum in the country, has been implemented since 2011. The curriculum focuses on the overall development of the students and attempts to prepare them for their last job, rather than for their first job. It has a significant component of humanities and social sciences, compulsory course in life-sciences, significant exposure to design and creativity, and provides flexibility to the students to choose their own learning path.
