The Entrepreneurial Technocrats Association, which is the first among the clubs at IIT Gandhinagar, is the Mecca for people trying to sell an idea in the land famous for producing them. Students here get to hone their skills in every aspect required to become a successful entrepreneur. Those who are helping mankind with their innovative ideas are invited as guest lecturers to inspire the students.
Phiop
The forum for interaction on physics is cheekily coined using the Latin symbols which students use as a means of interaction while participating in the activities of this club. It aims at encouraging a deeper study of the most interesting and ever changing field in science that many a student is infatuated by. The club helps students to quench their thirst for knowledge by inviting guest lecturers and trying to organize field trips to various institutes contributing towards the development of physics. The club has also been deeply involved in helping students weak in physics by providing extra study materials and clearing doubts through interaction.
Football enthusiasists have come together under the ambit of LFP (League of Football Players) and have organised an IPL/EPL style annual IIT Gandhinagar Footbal League with provisions for team formation through bidding, player transfer and all. LFP started with three teams - Club Gallanatos, 8 Hooligans FC and Aeolus. Being inspired from the popular football leagues around the world in its format and concept, LFP emerged as one of the most interesting tournaments of IITGN in the first year of its inception. With some hard fought matches and nail biting finishes, LFP was able to attract a lot of non-football playing audience. Club Galantos emerged as the winner of the first season. The second and the latest season (2009-2010) of LFP saw a lot of changes - two more teams (Rebels United and Blue Falcons) were added, and due to change in managerial position Aeolus was renamed as Urban Blitz. LFP, just like wine, became better as it grew a year older. With the competition getting tougher it attracted large amount of audiences who enjoyed some breathtaking matches. After one of the most interesting match ever played on IITGN grounds, Rebels United emerged as winner proving just an inch better than the defending champions Club Gallantos.
Cineflux
This club has been formed with the sole motive of providing unadulterated entertainment through the medium of cinema. Popular movies from across the world are screened regularly.
Pragya
This is a student initiative created with the aim of giving something back to society. It is a part of the NSS program where the students teach slum children some basic reading and writing skills with the hope of instilling in them dreams of a prosperous future. The students intend to extend their endeavours further and make a difference.
Bibliotheca del Estudente
This is a student library run by the students themselves. It provides the much needed break from the hustle of the hectic life at IIT Gn. One can borrow a book from this library and enjoy in the solitude of his /her room.
The Literary Guild
This club delves deep into the nuances of the queerest language known to the homo sapiens by organizing literary events pertaining to every aspect of the fine art of bringing life to words.
Planet Sangeet
This enthusiastic group of people make it their duty to provide the musical spark required to complete the life of a true individual. Singing and instrumental music contests are organized at regular intervals.
Green Gang
Seeing the interest of students to contribute something towards the environment, the Green Gang started functioning from 23rd July 2009 with a total strength of 86 members. This club will work actively in and around our campus. The club will organise activities throughout the year and will endeavour to make our campus clean and green. Efforts will be made to work out strategies which will help to keep our environment pollution free. The club plans to promote the use of non-conventional sources of energy.
