Career Development Centre (CDC)
Career Development Centre (CDC) is a part of Student Placement Office, which provides a platform to the students to enhance and groom their outer and inner self to convert themselves into a complete professional. CDC helps students to become aware about various career opportunities and prepare them to take informed decisions about their careers. The mission of CDC is to be a catalyst in the development of students to become leaders in a technologically based global ambience. It organizes several activities on communication, people & life skills, help students in discovering and clarifying career choices, and guides them on how to manage their careers effectively. CDC also assists the students for effective representation of themselves, conversation in groups, sharpen the aptitude and ability of formal interaction, that will provide them the foundation for a lifetime of career success.
The Institute organizes several workshops, which deals with the personal and professional growth of the students such as "Time Managment and Goal Setting", "Follow Your Dreams" etc. Besides this, the Institute also invites several eminent personalities in variety of fields to address the students to provide global picture beyond their curriculum, such as “India as a World Power: Potential & Realities” by Prof. Rajmohan Gandhi, “A Writer’s Journey” by Prof. Chitra Banerjee, “Career Development for IIT students” by Prof. Ravi Bhaskaran etc. CDC also has its own library specially consisting of books, study material, relevant DVDs and online resources, which helps the students equip for their future endeavors. A two-day career workshop was organized for the third-year students focusing on the issues related to opting different career paths after their undergraduate studies. Several other activities like “Resume Making”, “Mock Interviews”, "Are you ready for the change?" were also part of the workshop. The workshop also had external speakers (IITK young alumni), who talked about their personal experiences and their success stories.
