The Indian Army signed an MoU with IIT Gandhinagar earlier today, initiating a long-term collaboration and marking the beginning of an academia-army relationship. As a part of this joint initiative, the Indian Army will set up a Research and Development Cell on the IITGN Campus.

The Sixth Academic Advisory Council Meeting
This year's council meeting had on its agenda strengthening teaching and learning process in the institute, improving governance systems, identifying focus areas in research, and planning future academic facilities.
A five-week immersion Foundation Programme for all new undergraduate students nurtures creativity, communication skills, ethics, teamwork, social engagement and physical fitness.
IIT Gandhinagar undergraduate students undertake nearly 20% of their coursework in the liberal arts as well as compulsory courses in design and the life sciences.
PROJECT ORIENTED LEARNING
Our students have undertaken innovative community and commercial projects both inside and outside the classroom, from teaching science to students at a neighborhood school to developing a digital walking stick for the blind.
IITGN faculty come from some of the world's finest institutions. A vibrant visiting faculty program exposes our students to scores of the most prominent scholars worldwide.
Nearly a quarter of IIT Gandhinagar undergraduate students availed educational or internship opportunities abroad.
