- Joining of metals to ceramics such as alumina, zirconia, silicon carbide, etc and studying the intermetallics formed
- Binary and ternary diffusion couples and kinetics of growth of the intermetallic layers, analysis of the ternary intermetallics and isothermal sections of the ternary phase diagram
- Liquid film migration in binary alloys, microstructure, kinetics of growth, diffusion coefficient and the driving force
- Diffusion induced grain boundary migration in binary systems, microstructure, growth kinetics, diffusion coefficient, driving force, fine grains and fine grain layer growth
- Kinetics of discontinuous precipitation, discontinuous coarsening, and discontinuous dissolution of precipitate
