The discipline of Chemistry at IITGN was started in 2009 with a Ph.D. program and was expanded to offer a Master’s (M.Sc.) degree in 2013. The discipline currently hosts research activities which can be broadly classified into:
Drug Discovery and Medicinal Chemistry
The research facilities, which are continously being upgraded, currently include:
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
High Resolution Mass Spectrometer (HRMS)
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
We also expect to get fume hoods, matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometer, transmission electron microscope (TEM), single crystal x-ray diffractometer and liquid chromatogrpahy mass spectrometer (LCMS) in the future.
In order to meet current and future research and teaching requirements, the discipline of Chemistry at IIT Gandhinagar seeks outstanding applicants from all areas of Chemistry to fill multiple positions at all levels.
