In line with the efforts to expand its Humanities and Social Science Program and to build bridges between humanities and sciences, IIT Gandhinagar is holding a two-day workshop on Indian archaeology, epigraphy and ancient history.
Eighteen top archaeologists, epigraphists and scientists from across India will make presentations on the latest findings from the Palaeolithic age to the Indus and Ganges civilizations and beyond. Archaeozoology, archaeobotany, geology and other scientific disciplines will add much fascinating data to the emerging picture.
The workshop’s objective is not only to have experts sharing information on frontier areas of research in the above fields, but also to illustrate how science can lead to great advances in our understanding of the human past. The presentations will be eye-openers not only to students of history and humanities, but also to those of science.
Registration is open (and free) for the workshop. However, since a limited number of seats will be available, registrations will be accepted on first-come, first-served basis.
