Higher technical education, research and innovation are in urgent need for reform in India. Attracting the best and brightest young minds to help our country take the next big leap in higher education and research is a serious challenge. With this in mind, what can a new institute do to establish itself as a center of excellence in emerging India? IIT Gandhinagar is organizing a two day conclave to bring together some of the best young minds in order to address this challenge. The Conclave seeks talented and motivated graduate students and post-doctoral researchers from around the world to discuss opportunities and challenges in Indian academia, specifically in the context of an emerging Institute that aims to be world class in research and teaching. The Conclave includes a workshop on proposal writing, and will present an opportunity for driven graduate students and post-docs to interact with each other and with eminent Indian academics. We hope to see you at IIT Gandhinagar on 27-28 December 2011! |
